Meeting #13, September 3, 2009

We were lucky enough to be able to hold Irrationally Motivated's first speech contest!

We had six participants in the Evaluation contest, and Bonita Hsu and Shang Su will go on to represent our club at Area G1 Level.

Let's be there to support them all!

Meeting #12, August 20, 2009

The rescheduled meeting at Irrationally Motivated meant that not so many members were able to take part in the meeting.

Still, the highlight of the meeting was once again our wonderful Advanced Impromptu session in which our members gave superb depictions of the movies Titanic, Forrest Gump and Sex and the City!

This meeting also marked the one year anniversary of Irrationally Motivated Advanced Toastmasters Club - a landmark achievement!

Typhoon...

Unfortunately, Typhoon Morakot hitting Taiwan meant that our meeting on Thursday had to be postponed.

We will arrange a meeting for later in the month!

Meeting #10, June 4, 2009

The final meeting of the term brought many surprises! Perhaps it was the horrible rain, but it was certainly interesting to have such a low turnout to the meeting.

It didn't make a difference to the fabulously 'cozy' atmosphere. As usual, we had some wonderful sessions, including a hilarious Advanced Impromptu session from our new VPE, Shang Su.

John Lee from Chinatrust was also fantastic in his role as General Evaluator, and made everyone laugh more than their fair share!

It's also time for the new officer term at Irrationally Motivated. There will be many changes over the next few months, and I'm so excited about the improvements that we'll be making to make Irrationally Motivated the best place to learn in Toastmasters Taiwan!

Our May meeting was absolutely incredible!

Our three speakers, 2007 Humorous Speech Champion, Shang Su, current Irrationally Motivated VPE, Jewel Hsu, and BID Club President, Ming Tsai, truly brought their best performances for this evening!

The audience were completely blown away and the room was filled with laughter. Irrationally Motivated is really on a roll!

Our next meeting will take place on June 4.

Meeting #8 April 2, 2009

Our April meeting was an extremely entertaining evening! Despite a slightly hectic opening to the meeting, we enjoyed speeches from Yvonne Kao, Paul Lee, and our special guest, demo speaker Tiffany Yen, from Spark Toastmasters Club!

Area Governor, Shang Su, presided over our new Evaluation workshop, and our three evaluators delivered incredibly accomplished performances as a result!

Please come along to our meeting next month, on May 7!

Meeting #6, February 5, 2009

An era has come to an end.

Our esteemed President, Emily Murray has sadly left Taiwan and made her way to New Zealand. February's meeting was our final meeting under her inspirational leadership.

We enjoyed two speeches - Amanda Uy's A13 speech telling us the tale of the Lady of Shalott, and Paul Lee's speech on Supply Chain Management.

Our club will also be meeting at a new venue beginning next month. Please stay tuned for information on our new venue!

Meeting #5, January 8, 2009

The first meeting of 2009 brought an expertly delivered speech from Pamela Yang, on How to Deal with Jetlags. Joyce Hong told us about her scary experiences getting lost in her speech entitled Smangus. Finally, Paul Lee told us of the Seven Steps of Selling.

We also had an excellent Table Topics session, run by Sophia Lai, and our favorite Advanced Impromptu session involved some entertaining poetry analysis, run by Amanda Uy.
